Early Educators Advocate for LA Kids gives early care and education providers for young children the opportunity to shape the future for children in LA County. Early care educators who register will receive short 5-10 minute surveys to share information on what it is like to be a provider for young children in LA County, and how to make LA County better for families and early educators.
Registered early education providers can choose to receive surveys by text message or email. At most, there will be one survey distributed every 4-6 weeks, and educators can choose which surveys they want to respond to. You can choose to opt-out at any time.
Early Educators Advocate for LA Kids is a project sponsored by Quality Start LA in partnership with First 5 LA and the Los Angeles County Office of Education.
By registering to become a participant of Early Educators Advocate for LA Kids and responding to follow up survey and other opportunities, you can:
- help improve early care and education services for children and families
- help inform how public agencies in LA County spend funds to provide better services for children and families
- help shape child care and preschool programs in LA County and supports for the people who work there
Individuals who provide child care and early education services to children ages 0 to 5 in LA County, are eligible to participate. Educators do not need to be enrolled in Quality Start LA to participate in Early Educators Advocate for LA Kids.
In addition to the registration survey, there will be at most one survey distributed every 4 to 6 weeks. Participants can complete as many or as few as they like.
The initial registration survey is expected to take 3-7 minutes. Following surveys will likely take 5-10 minutes to complete.
There may be additional opportunities for discussion groups and input sessions. These opportunities are optional and may take between 15-60 minutes. Participant compensation for additional opportunities to be determined.
As part of the registration survey, you can select your preference for continued contact – text or email. We will send links to surveys to the contact option you select.
Survey links will be sent via text or email. The surveys can be taken on your phone, tablet, or computer. For the survey to work on your phone, you must have a ‘smartphone’ with connection to the internet (either through data or wifi).
As a thank you for your time, the first 100 registered participants will receive a gift card valued at $25. For each survey you complete after that, you get a chance to win a $50 gift card.
As a participant of Early Educators Advocate for LA Kids, you will also have the opportunity to speak on behalf of children in Los Angeles County. As an early education provider, you are an expert on educating children. By participating and sharing your experiences, you will help shape decisions for services, child care and preschool programs, and tax dollars, as mentioned above.
The surveys are all created and distributed by the Early Educators Advocate for LA Kids team. The links will not include viruses. The links will only take you directly to the survey.
The goal of Early Educators Advocate for LA Kids is to ensure that early education providers are speaking up on behalf of all children in LA County. We ask certain questions to ensure that all early educator voices throughout LA County are included.
Your information will never be shared or sold for other purposes. Provider responses will be grouped together and individual names will not be tied to any particular response.
Any data received through the survey will be securely stored by Early Educators Advocate for LA Kids. Personal information will never be shared. No personally identifying information submitted as part of Early Educators Advocate for LA Kids will ever be distributed.
