As a Quality Start Los Angeles (QSLA) participant, you have the opportunity to opt in to coaching each program year. Whether you’re working toward classroom goals or program improvements, coaching is designed to provide personalized support along the way.
At the beginning of each program year, your local Resource & Referral (R&R) agency will reach out to learn whether you’re interested in receiving coaching services. If you choose to participate, you’ll be paired with an experienced early learning coach who will work alongside you to build on your strengths, celebrate your successes, and support your professional growth.
QSLA coaching focuses on strengthening positive teacher-child interactions and creating engaging learning environments for children. Using tools like the Classroom Assessment Scoring System (CLASS®), you and your coach will identify goals that matter most to your program and create a Quality Improvement Plan (QIP) to help guide your progress.
Your coach will provide personalized support through:
- Collaborative goal setting
- Reflective conversations and feedback
- Resources and strategies tailored to your needs
- Ongoing guidance to support quality improvement
If you decide coaching isn’t the right fit for you, you’ll still have access to support through the QSLA Help Desk. The QSLA Help Desk, administered by your local R&R, can answer questions, connect you with resources, and provide technical assistance whenever you need it.
Whether you participate in coaching or use the (QIS) Help Desk, QSLA is here to support your success and help you create high-quality learning experiences for children and families.
