Common Data File Resource Page

The Common Data File

The Common Data File (CDF) is a yearly form that QSLA uses to learn about your site. It includes details like how many children you serve, what languages are spoken, and what funding you receive.

The CDF is an annual requirement set by the California Department of Education (CDE) and First 5 California.
Your answers help QSLA plan the right supports and meet state and county requirements.

How often is it collected?

The CDF is collected once each program year.
You may be asked to update it only if something important changes, such as a contact name or funding.

Who completes it?

The person who runs the site, such as the Site Administrator, Supervisor, or Family Child Care Home Owner, usually fills it out.
Large agencies with many sites can have one staff person complete all the forms.
