Comprehensive

The Comprehensive Model serves centers that are funded by the California Department of Education’s California State Preschool Program (CSPP). The quality improvement (QI) supports vary and are based on the QSLA Tier Rating the site earned from a formal assessment conducted by QSLA assessors.

Comprehensive Sites Rated at Tier 1, Tier 2 or Tier 3

  • Develop Quality Improvement Plans (QIP) at the classroom/session-level 
    • The teaching team of each classroom/session will co-create personalized QIPs with their coach that are related to the CA QRIS Rating Matrix (including CLASS and ERS), and site and/or teaching team needs
  • Receive a minimum of six (6) touchpoints for each of its classrooms/sessions
    • Touchpoints can consist of individual session coaching and multiple session coaching, in addition to establishing QIPs and providing resources and referrals to achieve their QIPs
  • Receive an annual financial incentive base on their Tier Rating
    • $1,000 for Tier 1
    • $2,000 for Tier 2
    • $4,000 for Tier 3

Comprehensive Sites Rated at Tier 4 or Tier 5

  • Develop Quality Improvement Plans at the site-level
    • A site lead(s) will co-create QIPs with their coach that are related to the CA QRIS Rating Matrix (includes CLASS and ERS), and site needs.
  • Receive two (2) touchpoints with the site lead(s) to establish a site QIP and provide resources and referrals to achieve their QIP 
  • Receive an annual financial incentive based on the Tier Rating:
    • $6,000 for Tier 4
    • $8,000 for Tier 5

QSLA Talking Points for Families

Provides common messaging for providers to use while communicating with families about QSLA

Additionally, all sites that are new to QSLA receive an additional participation stipend of $2,000 to support them in their quality improvement efforts.
